Working Together
Working with me will be an opportunity to use open and honest dialogue to explore issues responsible for various forms of distress.
I aim to identify and understand how these stressors impact your life, from facing a significant crisis to dealing with an extended period of anxiety or depression. Clients come to me needing support in coping with significant life transitions, dealing with complicated family dynamics, grappling with relationship problems, going through bereavement or wanting to make changes to foster better mental and emotional health.
I believe that both therapist and client create a relationship built on the freedom to follow and trust their own instincts, be themselves, and let the work unfold in its own unique way. I have faith in the idea that we have the power to gradually shift some of our more destructive habits of thought like fear, shame, regret, craving and towards self-compassion, confidence, and a loving engagement with ourselves and others.
I believe that the success of psychotherapy depends largely on whom you choose as a therapist.
Practice Description
I work with individuals aged 18 or over.
Sessions will be 50 minutes.
I offer short-term counselling (around 6 to 12 sessions) or longer-term work with regular review.
Before committing to longer-term counselling, I suggest we work together for approximately six sessions. This allows you to see if my way of working suits you or if you need a different approach.
Sessions will be weekly, at the same time on the same day. It is essential for an effective therapy that we try to maintain a regular and continuous commitment.
